NORFOLK — Mrs. Alice Virginia Robbins Bailey, 84, of 7713 N. Shirland Ave., Apt. 5, the widow of William Henry Bailey and a daughter of Jefferson James and Mrs. Alice George Robbins, died in a hospital Saturday at 11 a.m.
A lifelong resident of Norfolk, she was a member of Epworth Methodist Church and Ladies Auxiliary of Spanish American War Veterans.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Madeline Elizabeth Roethke and Mrs. Margaret Matilda Sawyer and two sons, Richard Robbins Bailey and William Henry Bailey, Jr., all of Norfolk; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Carhart of Hampton, Mrs. W. T. Thompson of Ivor, Mrs. Helen Bryan of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Mrs. Gertrude Fisher of Virginia Beach; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held in Holloman-Brown Funeral Home Monday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
