Lance Cpl Tyler Overstreet of Gallatin, Tennessee joined the Marines shortly after graduating from Gallatin High School in 2004. He was a prankster. If he could initiate something, he would initiate it. But he was also the kind that if you asked for the shirt off his back, he would probably give it to you. He was loving, caring and didn't have a bad bone in his body. Tyler was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching the game with his stepfather who was a Giants fan. He also loved golf, motocross racing, and spending time with his family and friends. Tyler never got to meet his three-week-old son, Ashton Allen who was born on September 27 just a few days after he shipped out to Iraq. He had been in Iraq for less than a month when an explosive device hit the truck he was riding in. His is the son of Jana Mertens and Wendell Overstreet. He was 22.
