Sarah was the fifth of seven children. (Birth information taken from Palmer family Bible.) She was raised in Morgan County, Ohio and lived there with her father, step-mother and siblings in 1850.

She married Aaron Tryon November 26, 1857 and they had two children. He enlisted in the civil war before his daughter was born and died in 1863. Sarah was unable to care for the children and they were given to Stewart & Samantha (Tryon-Aaron's sister) Disbrow to raise.

Sarah married William Alexander Crawford March 1, 1866. To this union, 7 children were born. They lived in Athens Co. in 1870, Morgan Co. in 1880 and settled back in Trimble Village, Athens Co. before 1900. They appear there on the 1910 census.

When William died in 1919, Sarah is not listed in his obit. Her death record cannot be found, but she was probably buried at Sands Cemetery with her 2nd husband and their eldest daughter, neither of whom have tombstones. There is a record, at the library in Glouster, of their burial in that cemetery.
