On Saturday morning, at 10 o'clock, the reaper of death again visited our town and called to his eternal home John George Ackerman on of our oldest and most respected citizens. Deceased was born in the Kingdom of Bavaria, Germany, August 6th, 1813, In 1840 he married Miss Mary Clara Wise and the week after their wedding they sailed for America. On the 10 of March, 1895, his wife died. He is survived by seven children, four sons and three daughters. The funeral took place Monday morning. Services were in Holy Trinity church, interment at Conowago Chapel.
