Betty June Hansen
1923 ~ 2016
On Friday, May 20th, heaven welcomed a new angel, Betty June Hansen, 92. She passed at her home in Boise, Idaho surrounded by her children.

Betty Hansen (Gutke) was born in Reno, Nevada on June 13, 1923. She was welcomed into the world by her parents, Sylvia and Sylvester, and her brothers, Ellis and Mont. At 6 months of age, Betty moved to Shelley, Idaho with her brothers and mother after the passing of her father. Over the subsequent years, Betty learned the importance of hard work and integrity as she watched her single mother work several jobs to provide for the children.

After graduating from high school in Shelley, Betty moved to Salt Lake City to attend business school. While attending school, Betty also displayed her musical talents by playing the trumpet in a band.

During the war, Betty moved back to Idaho where she served her country by working at the army depot.

After the war Betty went on a blind date with a handsome man, Lowell Reed Hansen (Bill); a man that would later become her husband and best friend.
Betty and Bill would eventually move to Twin Falls, Idaho where they raised three wonderful children.

Betty was the epitome of a perfect wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She never spoke an unkind word and was generous to everyone she met. She taught her children how to simultaneously be strong, independent and compassionate. Betty enjoyed gardening and always dazzled people with her gorgeous flower beds and award winning tomatoes. Betty enjoyed spending time with her three granddaughters whom she adored.
B
etty is survived by her children Reed (Toni) Hansen, Charlene (Todd) Burt, and Jeri Hansen; as well as her granddaughters Lindsay Burt, MD, Ashley Burt, MD, and Erin Burt, DNP.

Betty's family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Paula Carvalho, Dr. Paul Montgomery, and Boise St. Luke's Hospice.

Services were held under the direction of Reynolds Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls.

We love and will miss you, Mom.
