Rites Set for Mrs. Hoard, 85 Died at Home of Son in Westport
Mrs. Clara Hoard, 85, who had made her home with her son Harold Hoard, of Westport, since last February, passed away there Sunday. She had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill the past few months. The daughter of John T. and Elizabeth Hopper Brinton, she was born at Blocher in Scott county on March 12, 1875. She resided in that community until 1919, when she moved to North Vernon. She was united in marriage to Francis Marion Hoard in 1903 in Scott county. He preceded her in death in 1918.

Surviving with the son at Westport are two other sons, Rev. M. C. Hoard, and Fred Hoard, a stepson, John Hoard, one sister, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the North Vernon Nazarene church, of which she was a member. The Rev. C. R. Griffith, of Indianapolis, will officiate. Burial will be in the Blocher cemetery
