Mark Edward Odom died in bed on May 12, 2016 in Huntsville, AL due to natural causes. He was 57.
Mr. Odom was born on September 7, 1958 in Fort Worth, TX to his parents James and Kathryn Odom. He graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington with a degree in Architecture. He married Harriett Hamilton on March 8, 1986. The Odom's moved to Marietta, GA where Mark worked as an architect and Harriett went on to run a daycare. He was an active member of Northpoint Church, and led a small group with UpStreet Ministries.
Mr. Odom was a loyal, dedicated, hardworking professional with a passion for the art of architecture. He loved sports and was an ALTA tennis player within his neighborhood. He had the utmost respect for music and the arts, with a special place in his heart for the Beatles and the Peanuts comic strip.
Mr. Odom is survived by his wife, Harriett; his daughter, Emily; his daughter and son in law, Rachel and Robert Shogren; his sister and brother in law, Rebecca and Wolfgang Guhl; his niece and her husband, Angela and Paul Regopoulos; and his mother, Kathryn Louise Odom. He is preceded in death by his father, James Odom, and his daughter, Kathryn Odom.
Mr. Odom will be buried in the Garden of Prayer at Green Lawn Cemetery, on May 16, 2016. Visitation will be held on May 15, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Green Lawn Chapel. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mark Odom's life. In lieu of flowers please donate to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.
