Mae C. Hoover, age 90, of Maximo, passed away at 9:32 a.m, Monday, May 23, 2016 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born May 12, 1926 in Maximo, Ohio, to Charles and Marie (Berg) Burns.
Mae was a 1944 graduate of Louisville High School. She was employed at Burns General Store in Maximo and also the former owner and operator of Mae’s Cakes who specialized in wedding cakes.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alliance Senior Center and The Altar and Rosary Society in Maximo.
Mae was an avid Cleveland sports fan and also enjoyed making quilts, playing cards and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Paul (Carol) Hoover of Madison; Joanne (Bob) Knam of Alliance: Jim (Marilyn) Hoover of Alliance; Mike (Louise) Hoover of Maximo; and Dave (Becky) Hoover of Alliance; grandchildren, Joe Hoover, Eric Hoover, Stacey Calo, Christine diDonato, Susan Greiner, Samantha Kerns, Molly Hoover, John Hoover, Jason Hoover, Chelsea Hoover, Ashley Moser, Anthony Hoover and Amy Hoover; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Isabella, Isla, Giacomo, Vincent, Lucy, Olivia, Dillion, Colton, Meleah, Natalie, Lexy, C.J., Koryn, Briaunna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert P. Hoover whom she married August 21, 1948, and sister, Ruth Erisey Ball.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Maximo.
