Rebecca Ann (Little) Denning was born in Clay County, Indiana to William Little and Grace Hughes-Little. She was the third child out of seven children. Her family came to Clay County, Indiana from Virginia. And spent most of there time running between both states. She married John Denning in the spring of 1857. And had nine children. Settling in Streator, Illinois in the 1870's. She and her husband John Denning were two out of 23 founders of the P.M. Methodist Church in Streator, Illinois. John Denning her husband owned the John Denning Coal Mine and Coal Company in Streator, Illinois. After 31 years in Streator, Illinois they settled in Lincoln, Illinois. John passed away after three years in Lincoln and Rebecca went to live with her daughter in Athens, Illinois. She died in 1905. And was buried next to her husband in Zion Cemetery in Lincoln, Illinois
