Charles A. Powers, 67, of Salona died Thursday, January 15, 1959, at SusqueView Home in Lock Haven.
Mr. Powers was a life-long resident of Nittany Valley. He had lived at the County Home two years and came with its residents to Lock Haven from Loganton when the SusqueView was established in Lock Haven in 1958.
Born at Mill Hall, Mr. Powers was three times married and widowed. He belonged to the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Lock Haven. He had last worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Highways for 15 years until his health failed.
Three sons and six daughters survived: George, who was with the US Army in Korea; Samuel, Meadville; Charles Jr., Mrs. Thomas Cortleoyu and Mrs. Jack Beal, Princeton, New Jersey; Mrs. Joseph Mistyhm, New Brunswick, New Jersey, Miss Violet, San Francisco, California; Mrs. William Richie, Pittsburgh; and Mrs Margaret Yearick, Mill Hall, also 21 grandchildren.
Two brothers and a sister were: Harry Powers, Mill Hall; Ralph, Lock Haven; and Mrs. Clarence Wirth, Avis.
Funeral Services were held at the McCloskey Funeral Home, Mill Hall, with the Reverend Paul D. Wonders officiating.

Interment was at Tylersville Cemetery.
