Geneva Jane Krynock, 95, passed away September 26 of complications from pneumonia. She was born October 1, 1922, to Howard and Pearl Bell near Delta, Ohio. She was adopted by Lowell and Clara Burgoon of Wauseon, Ohio in 1925. Geneva graduated from Wauseon High School in 1940 and completed her BS degree in elementary education at Defiance College in 1948.

Geneva married Joe W. Krynock on February 8, 1948, in the Methodist Episcopal Church in Wauseon, Ohio, residing in Lakeside for eight years before moving to Port Clinton. Three sons were born to this union: Roger, Kenneth, and Clifford. In addition to her three sons, she is survived by 9 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren.

Geneva taught elementary education in Lyons, Ohio, Wauseon, Ohio, and Port Clinton, Ohio (for 25 years). She retired in 1981 after 31 years of teaching.
She taught adult Sunday school at Faith United Methodist Church, was the church treasurer for 17 years, and played in the church’s chimes quartet.
She was also an active member of the Port Clinton Artists Club from 1979, and held the office of president and treasurer.

Geneva’s memorial service will be celebrated at Faith United Methodist Church in Port Clinton on Saturday, October 6, at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
