Carolyn Alice Melton - November 11, 1942 - December 5, 2015. Carolyn Alice Starnes Melton, 73, of Sherman, passed from this life on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at her home with her family at her side.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10th, at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, TX.
No scheduled visitation is planned, per Carolyn's personal request.
Carolyn was born November 11, 1949, in Cannon, TX, the first child of Marshall and Margaret Ann Amonett Starnes.
She was born at home and was delivered by Dr. Frank Spores and her aunt, Mildred Starnes.
She attended Van Alstyne Schools and graduated from Tom Bean High School.
She worked in accounting at the MKT Railroad, and retired from the accounting department at Johnson and Johnson Manufacturing, after 41 years of service.
Carolyn thoroughly enjoyed life. Her family was her greatest joy, especially her grandchildren. She always enjoyed helping others. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father and her only brother, Bill Starnes.
Survivors include her mother, Margaret Starnes, of Sherman; daughter, Stacy Lubbers and husband Mike, of Sherman; grandson Jason Melton and wife Brittany, of Tom Bean; granddaughter Jessica Lubbers, of Grand Cayman; and grandson Justin Lubbers and wife Kristen of Denton, TX; niece Jennifer Blagburn and husband Adam, and their son Cooper, of Forney, TX.
In Lieu of flowers, the family would be honored if friends would perform any act of kindness for someone in need."
