Born in Shelley, Idaho, a son of Eli Clayson Searle and Avilda Oler, Leon Clayson Searle completed his earthly life on Tuesday.

He married Carol Clark May 23, 1955 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

Following graduating from Shelley High School, Class of 1944, he entered the U.S. Navy's radar program and served his country in the Philippines during World War II. He graduated from Idaho State College and completed his education at the University of Utah, receiving an electrical engineering degree. As a young man he served a New England States Mission where he met Carol Clark. Together they returned to New England for a second mission in 1993.
