Abe Kipp Weaver Gamble, age 86, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016, at Grace Healthcare.
Abe was born July 2, 1929, in Brackridge, PA, to the late Joseph Gamble and Mable Jackson Gamble. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Ann Foster Gamble.
Abe was a member of New Providence United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather. Mr. Gamble retired from the US Army, having served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He also worked in the Pennsylvania steel mills, the Zinc Plant, and the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System.
Memorial service will be held Monday, March 14, at 7:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Jeffrey Gamble officiating.
Abe is survived by his three sons, Guy E. (Beverly) Gamble of West Chicago, IL, Abe (Carol) Gamble, Jr. of Thousand Oaks, CA, and Jeffrey S. (Connie) Gamble of Lafayette, IN; two daughters, Gladys S. Gamble (Timothy) Mitchell and Beth Ann Gamble (David) Smith, both of Clarksville; sister, June McDowell; grandchildren, Timothy (Amanda) Mitchell, Jason (Samantha) Smith, Leslie Gamble, Tom (Jennifer) Mitchell, David (Kimberly) Smith, Guy Gamble, Aryanna Gamble, Joseph Gamble, Kristyn (Sam) Smith, Cameron Gamble, Chandler Gamble, Tom (Kelly) Heun, and Jimmy Heun; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements are entrusted to Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, Clarksville, Tennessee.
