Bill, 68, died at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born to Delton and Dorothy (Kilmer) Asmus. He married Caroline (Myerholtz) June 17, 1961. She survivies.

Also surviving are two sons, Mark, Temperance, MI, and Kirk Asmus, Haskins; a daughter, Lauri Conkey of Bowling Green; 6 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren; brother, Thomas Asmus; sister, June Myerholtz.

Bill was a 1956 graduate of Washington Twp. High School, Tontogany, OH. He worked at Campbell's Soup Company, Walt Siders' Construction, and The Anderson's as a construction worker and a lawn fertilizer operations manager from 1966-78. He farmed for several years and worked at the Tontogany Elevator as an Operations Supervisor and also drove bus for Otsego Schools for 5 years. In 2001 he retired from Bowling Green State University Environmental Dept. Bill also was in the National Guard from 1961-67. Bill was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Haskins, OH. He was a member of church council from 1969-75 and also 1986-88. He was on Haskins Village Council for 6 years, and was Mayor of Haskins from 1976-84. He was a member of the Haskins Volunteer Fire Dept. from 1961-84 and was a former Washington Twp. Trustee.
