Carolyn Bolton was born December 16, 1936 in Mount Pleasant, the fifth of seven children, to Howard and Gladys Draper.

She married Bill Bolton on May 6, 1966, celebrating their fiftieth anniversary recently.

Her favorite hobby was crocheting and she made blankets for all of her children and grandchildren.

A foster mother for twenty-seven years, she cared for 189 children. She specialized in caring for children with medical, mental, and physical conditions. Carolyn and Bill adopted three children through the foster care program in addition to two others via adoption agencies.

Survived by her husband, Bill Bolton; sons, Randy, Kevin, and James; daughters, Lisa and Lorrie; sister, Lois Isaksson (Mike); eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, two brothers, Jay and Billie Draper; and three sisters, Athleen Larson, Thora Jensen, and June Butcher.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2015 at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West). A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Interment: Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
