Joseph Hastings, Sr. was the 1st son and the 2nd child of Henry C. Hastings, Sr. and Elizabeth McDaniel Hastings. He married Susannah Holloway in 1777 in Orange Co. NC. They had 4 sons and 3 daughters. Joseph was a Justice of the Peace. Joseph later married Elizabeth Harvey. (I could be mistaken but I think the photo on this memorial belongs to Joseph Hastings, Jr., the son of Joseph Hastings, Sr.)
