Marie Martel Lambert was the widow of Edouard Lambert and made her home with her daughter Alma Gagne and family after the death of her husband. The Lamberts came to Berlin, New Hampshire when there were just a few families there. Mr. Lambert during his lifetime had been prominent in political life especially in the days before Berlin became a city and he had help many offices. Mrs. Lambert, although the mother of 15 children, found time to take interest in the affairs of the city. She was a woman dedicated to her home and family but was always ready and willing to assit her neighbors and friends in times of trouble. She was highly respected by all.

She was survived by 12 children, 6 daughters, Mrs Fred Goulette, Mrs. Ernest Soucy of Rumford, Maine, Mrs Arthur Lemieux, Mrs Ernest Gagne, Mrs Fidele Aube, and Mrs. Theophile Gosselin of Berlin, NH. Six sons, Francis, Fred, Joe, Octave, Calixte and Edmond all of Berlin. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
