Maxine was born June 6, 1922 in Walker County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Zachery J. Burns and the late Melinda "Lindy" Atkins Burns.
On April 7, 1941, she married James Luquer Sparks, who preceded her in death August 21, 1998.
She was a former longtime resident of Fry Branch Road in the Lynnville Community and a member of Lynnville Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughters, Jean Sloan of Murfreesboro; Betty (Randall) Hendley of Columbia; sons, James Mac (Margaret) Sparks and Ronald (Carolyn) Sparks, both of Lynnville; Billy Ray (Linda) Sparks of Erin; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Lee Sparks; granddaughter, Megan Sparks; great grandson, Lane Farris; three sisters; and two brothers.
