Philip Donald Baker, 71, of Lumberton, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016. He was born July 5, 1944 on the property that he lived his entire life on. Philip was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a hard worker, he worked as a union carpenter then he became a welder. He loved his wife kids and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Amith Baker, Sr.; mother, Louise Snider Baker; brothers, J.C. Baker, Jesse Baker, Junior Baker, Jerry Baker, and Paul Baker.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dolores Baker of Lumberton; daughters, Buffy Barnes and husband Jason of Lumberton, Tracy Tantillo and husband Kyle of Kountze; mother-in-law, Annie Bradberry; grandchildren, Amber Stockwell and husband John, Justin Potter and wife Lauren, Adam Tantillo and wife Dawn and Meagan Tantillo; great-grandchildren, Preslee Stockwell and Harbor Potter; brother, Daniel Baker and too many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family to count.

His family will receive friends at Grace Church of Kountze on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Church of Lumberton, officiated by Stacie Swearingen. Interment will follow at Hooks Cemetery in Kountze.

Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Baker, Charles Baker, Tobie Baker, Asa Baker, Preston Baker and Dennis Baker. Honorary pallbearers are Jay Baker and Robert Swearingen.
