DEBORAH “DEBBIE” LYNN RATLIFF CHILDRESS, 62 years of age of Vansant, VA passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the UVA Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA. Born October 7, 1953 in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Arville Ratliff and Eva (Effler) Ratliff. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a Member of Vansant Church of Christ. She was an Office Manager for Dr. Leighton Lawrence for 25-years.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, George Henry Childress Jr. Vansant, VA; 2-children: Marie (John) Justus, Hurley, VA, and Robert Childress, Vansant, VA; 3-Sisters: Sandy Keene, Vansant, VA, Carol Kay (Bobby) Church, Abingdon, VA, and Charlene (Noah) Vandyke, Abingdon, VA; 1-Brother: Terry Wayne (Cheryl) Ratliff, Vansant, VA; 4-Grandchildren: John A. Justus, Emma Justus, Marshall Justus, and Luke Justus; Sisters-in-Law: Gail and Patricia Childress.
Also, survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for DEBORAH “DEBBIE” LYNN RATLIFF CHILDRESS will be conducted Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Rife and Bob Werntz officiating. Entombment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Claypool Hill, VA.
