Rose Mary Jones Champion, 66, of Amarillo died on Thursday, May 12, 2016.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church with Pastor Vurn Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery East. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.

Rose was born Sept. 2, 1949, in Clinton, Okla., to James and Beulah White. She was raised by her adopted parents Phillip and Jennie Jones in Muleshoe. She moved to Amarillo in 1968, where she graduated from Amarillo High School. She worked as an administrative assistant for Potter County, the state of Texas, Xcel Energy and Atmos Energy. She was also a Hair Stylist for many years. Rose was a member of Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her adoptive parents; a sister, Dorothy Jean Mayes; and a grandchild.

Survivors include her children, Janet Cato and husband Roy of Amarillo, Andrew Blair of Dallas and LaToya Jackson and husband Carl of Amarillo; a brother, James White of Sequin; and a sister, Joann Riley of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
