"CYRUS FUNK IS DEAD
Boiler Maker Dies at Home in Zullinger - Ill Long Time
Waynesboro, Jan 18. - Cyrus Bigler Funk, a well-known resident of this section, died yesterday at his home at Zullinger, from a cancer in his neck, aged 62 years.
He had been in ill health for several months during which time he went to a Philadelphia hospital on two different occasions but did not undergo any operation.
Mr. Funk was born on the old homestead, west of town, the son of David Funk. He spent his boyhood days on the farm.
When a young man he entered the Frick Company's shops and learned the boiler trade. For a while after finishing his trade he worked in Harrisburg.
While working in Harrisburg he married Margaret Alice Potter, daughter of the late Jeremiah Potter, Zullinger. Shortly after his marriage he returned to Zullinger, where he made his home ever since."

Funeral services for Cyrus R. Funk were held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at his late home at Zullinger, conducted by Rev. Dr. F. F. Bahner.

Dr. Bahner's funeral theme was, "The Patience of the Saints", based on the text in Rev. 14:12.

Several hymns, "Some Time We'll Understand" and "Tell Mother I'll Be There", were sung by Mrs. Francis D. Bowers, Miss Gladys Eppley and Miss Elizabeth Unger.

Neighbors of the deceased acted as pallbearers. They were: Harry Friedley, Daniel Rowe, John Creps, D. O. Nicodemus, Abram Price and Aaron Morgal.
