Elsina Faber Sieck, daughter of Merle Edward Foltz and Amy Quayle Foltz, was born April 6, 1924 in Guthrie County, Iowa. Elsina moved to Perry at the age of 3 and spent the rest of her years in the Perry area. She graduated from Perry Public School and then went on to DMACC and ISU. Elsina married Merle Edwin Faber on December 14, 1943 and they were blessed with three children Pam, Ed, and Jean. They farmed in Washington Township. Merle died July 1994. Elsina later married Walter Sieck on August 24, 1996. She worked at Central Dallas Community School in Minburn, Iowa for twenty-two years. Elsina enjoyed traveling, camping, reading, crocheting, cake decorating, and teaching Sunday School. She was a long-time member of the Washington Chapel Church of Christ and held many offices there.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Merle Faber and Walter Sieck, son Ed Faber, five sisters, and two brothers.
Elsina is survived by her daughters Pamela Vandever and Jean Kistler both of Perry; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; a large stepfamily; and many friends.
