Diplomat, Philanthropist, Businessman. son of Herman Oelrichs & Theresa Fair, he was born in Manhattan, educated at Columbia College in international law. he was appointed the attaché of the American embassy in Berlin. He married Dorothy Haydel in Sep 1925. in 1932 he became a member of the Society of Tammany, he sold the Rosecliff mansion in Newport in 1941.
