David D. Snodgrass, 50, of Kingsport passed away Wednesday morning, May 18, 2016, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born at Ft. Gordon in Augusta, GA, he had resided in Kingsport most of his life. He was a 1983 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School, 1988 graduate of University of Tennessee with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering. After graduation, David began his career at McDonnell Douglas in California. While there he met and married his wife, Tere and completed his MBA through Pepperdine University in 1991. He continued his career as a General Manager in industrial textiles throughout the southeast for over 20 years, before returning home to Kingsport. He passionately loved his family, and one of his greatest joys was watching his daughters show Tennessee walking horses. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time outdoors with family and friends. He was an avid fan of University of Tennessee football and Braves baseball. David was a Christian, a Mason, and a member of the Outdoorsman Club.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and mother-in-law.

The family would like to thank the medical staff of Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center with special appreciation to Dr. John Beatty.

The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with cousin, Greg Lauderback officiating.

A family burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park with uncle, Mike Henshaw officiating. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
