Chris moved to Washington, D.C. when she was 10 years old. She attended D.C. public schools, and after graduating from Armstrong High School, she enrolled in Southeastern
University.
Shortly after completing school, she obtained work at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where her intelligence, thoroughness, enthusiasm, and artistic talents propelled her into an outstanding 35-year career. Chris rose from Clerk-Typist in the Office of Pesticide Programs to Public Affairs Specialist in the office of the Assistant Administrator for Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention.
No one worked harder than Chris or gave more to the organization than she. Chris was a perfectionist and would work at something all day and all night until she felt she had it right. She retired on September 1, 2014.
Chris met her husband, Charles Holt, in a Home Depot store. They were married two years later in the U.S. Virgin Islands on Cinco de Mayo of 2007 and enjoyed eight years of marital bliss.
She is survived by her husband, her children, Morgan Anna Terry and Gerald Sylvester Johnson, her father, and many other relatives.
