Margie Fern Walls Ray, age 91, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Thursday, May 19, 2016, in a local nursing home. She was born October 9, 1924, in Antoine, Arkansas, and had lived most of her life in Texarkana.

She retired from the Texarkana Arkansas School District after twenty-five years. She also served many years at the local Friendship Center. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her two husbands, Emory Altus Walls and James Franklin Ray.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Dianne Walls of Texarkana, Arkansas, James and Jeanie Ray of Hooks, Texas, and Jimmy and Linda Ray of Shreveport, Louisiana, two brothers, Junior Copeland and Curtis Copeland of Gurdon, Arkansas, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A. M. Saturday at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel with Marc Sillivan officiating. Burial will be at Rondo Memorial Park.
