Sturgis; Mariah Leigh HEATH, 10, of Sturgis, Mich., died Saturday, April 19, 2003, in Constantine Township as a result of injuries she sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born Jan. 23, 1993, in LaGrange, Ind., a daughter of John and Carrie (JOHNS) HEATH.

Mariah had lived her whole life in Sturgis and was a fourth grade student at Eastwood Elementary School in Sturgis where for the past two years she was honored as the student of the month.

Mariah was never without a smile and she loved time spent with her sisters and brothers, family gatherings, swimming, going to school and hanging out with her friends, her pets and her special Big Sister, Mackenzie MIKULENAS. Mariah attended the Sturgis Four Square Church.

Surviving are; her parents; two sisters, Amanda HEATH and Krista HEATH, both at home; one half sister, Dawn MORGAN of Cleveland, Ohio; two half brothers, Mike HEATH and John HEATH, both of Cleveland; grandparents, Janette PARR JOHNS of Sturgis, and Frank and Pat JOHNS of Howe, Ind.; her aunts and uncles, Robert and Kimberly HEATH of Moline, Ohio, Harvey and Jonnie HEATH of Toledo, Ohio, Penny HUWEART and Rick of Toledo, Ohio; great aunts and uncles, Virginia SHAFFER of Toledo, Tom and Betty GOODREMONT of Virginia, Audrey and Dale MAHAN of Charlotte and Barbara and Keith FRENCH of Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John HEATH St. and June HEATH and uncles, Thomas HEATH and Christopher D. JOHNS.

Friends and relatives may call after 6 p.m. today at the Hackman-Foglesong Funeral Home of Sturgis, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday. Funeral services celebrating the life of Mariah Leigh HEATH will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Steven L. Clark, Sturgis Four Square Church will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Sturgis.

The family requests no flowers. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the family. The proceeds from the memorial contributions will be donated to an organization in Mariah's memory. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
