Guy Steven Harris, 22, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his childhood home in Floral City, FL on Sunday, May 15, 2016. Guy fell asleep and did not wake up this side of heaven, he got to meet Jesus at the dawn of sunrise. Attempts to revive him were futile as he was already in the arms of angels. We do not know what went wrong or why he was taken too soon but we find comfort in knowing he is in the presence of his Almighty Father.
Guy was born on the afternoon of January 11, 1994 in Ocala, FL and was a lifelong resident of the Floral City area. He was a 2012 alumni of Citrus High School where he lettered in tennis. He attended the College of Central Florida and Valencia where he earned an Associates degree in criminology. Guy had just been accepted into the University of South Florida where he would pursue a bachelor's degree in criminology. Guy was passionate about people and knew he was called to help others. He worked as a deli associate at Publix grocery store for over three years and also worked with his brother at Bass Pro Shops. He attended First Baptist Church of Floral City.
Guy was happiest in the company of family and friends and was very people oriented. He had a smile that was infectious and a remarkably calm spirit. He was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and skydiving. Guy was a cherished son, brother and uncle. He was a loving cousin and nephew and the best of friends to many. His memory is forever engraved within those who were lucky enough to know him.
Guy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Helen Rolph and by his paternal grandparents, Homer and Joan Harris. He is survived by his loving family: Parents, Steve and Pam Harris of Floral City, FL; siblings, Benjamin Lambright and his wife Lucy of Inverness, FL, Loretta Redrick and her husband Scott of Crystal River, FL, and Tim Monahan of Floral City, FL; many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life funeral service is scheduled for Saturday 3:00 pm at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Inverness. The family will be receiving friends in visitation at the church from 2:00 pm until the hour of service. Internment will follow the services at Hills of Rest Cemetery, Floral City, FL. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
