Nick S. RouLaine, age 74, of Northport, died May 18, 2016. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Memory Chapel with Rev. Charles Stapp, Rev. Lauralee Estes and Dr. Steven Stapp officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty United Methodist Church cemetery with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, A Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at Memory Chapel.He was preceded in death by his father, Cyril RouLaine; mother, R. Ethel RouLaine; brother, Kenneth D. RouLaine sisters, Evelyn Crowder, Bobbye Betty and Billie June Andoe.Survivors include, his wife, Linna Stapp RouLaine; daughter, Andrea Lynn RouLaine; son, Nicholas Scott RouLaine (Paula); brothers, Glenn RouLaine (Patsy), Paul RouLaine (Debbie) and David RouLaine (Ginny); grandchildren, Dylan Scott and Andrew Paul; close family members, Steven, Katie, Edi, and Lynley Andre; and many special nieces and nephews that he loved very much. Born in Tuscaloosa County in 1941 on December 21 to Cyril and Ethel RouLaine. He attended school at Northport, West End and Stafford. He graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1961, where he was voted one of the Senior Favorites. He was a devoted husband to Lynn for 41 years. He adored his children, Scott and Andrea. He loved watching Alabama football with his wife and loved ones.Nick loved fly fishing and being outdoors. In 1965, he was drafted into the Vietnam War where he served in a Strike Force. He earned the Purple Heart, the French Croix-de-Guerre, The Expert Rifle (M14), Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and recommended for The Bronze Star.After returning from Vietnam, Nick attended Shelton State Community College and received his Associates Degree in Electricity. He served as a Postman for the US Postal Service for 37 years and 10 months. Nick was a Senior Member of Five Points Baptist Church where he was baptized and served as a Deacon. Nick never met a stranger and his legacy of love will live on in precious memories of the many who love him. Pallbearers will be Curtis Colburn, Ronnie Estes, Lee RouLaine, Steven Andoe, Craig Andoe, W.L. Andoe, Jim Hughes, Jerry Dale Crowder, Lynda Stapp and Charles Estes.Honorary pallbearers are Jim Crowder, Tommy Crowder, Rick Crowder, Richard RouLaine, Joe RouLaine, Clay RouLaine, Mike Richardson, Jeff RouLaine, Robby Lancaster, Scottie McCray, David Stapp, Sandra Coley, Kenny Talley, Dr. John Warren, Beverly Crimm (CRNA), Leigh Rose, Brenda Long and Hannah Phillips.
