Ms. Melissa Brooks, age 34, of Alabaster, Alabama, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2006, in Pelham, Alabama. She was born on January 16, 1972, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Johnny Brooks and Donette Duke. Melissa was a graduate of Pelham High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from The State University of New York. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Ms. Brooks is survived by her parents; her grandmother, Margaret Duke of Carthage, Texas; her great-grandmother, Ellen Carroll of Carthage; and numerous other relatives. She was laid to rest on March 8, 2006, next to her grandfather, Jack Duke, in the Clayton Cemetery in Clayton, Texas.
