Carol Rumsey Norris, 82, died May 18, 2016. The daughter of Lawrence and Mabel (Maffey) Rumsey, she was a 1951 graduate of Burney High School and married William "Bill" Earl Norris on April 17, 1953 and he preceded her in death September 19, 2014.

She is survived by her children, Kelly, Kim and Gary. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Tamara Sue Norris.

Carol J. Norris, 82, of Walton, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, May 18th at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. She was born June 8, 1933 in Morse[Moores] Hill, Indiana to Lawrence and Mable (Maffey) Rumsey.

She married William E. Norris on April 17, 1952 in Greensburg, Indiana and he preceded her in death September 19, 2014.

Carol served as a license practical nurse (LPN) for Forrest Park Health Care Center in Kokomo for 17 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and time spent with her granddaughters and family.

She is survived by her son, Kim Norris of Walton and daughter Kelly Layman of Walton. Granddaughters, Alisha Layman of Walton and Jessica Layman of Mishawaka. She is also survived by her sister Pat (Bill) Anderson of Greensburg and brother Mike (Suzanne) Rumsey of Greensburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William, infant daughter, Tamara Sue and son Gary, son-in-law, Brenton “Bink” Layman and sister Janet Rumsey.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21st at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Steve Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. all at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.
