"A Carlisle Preston, 86, a lifelong resident of this area, died at 2:30 pm yesterday at the home of his son, Glenard H Preston, at White Oak in Rome township. He had been ill for some time after having suffered a stroke. A son of Luther Benham and Esther Hall Preston, he was born in Athens township on Oct 1, 1862. He formerly lived in Tryonville, but eleven years ago moved to a Titusville rural route. On Aug 13, 1884, he was married to Julia Webber, who died on July 22, 1921. Mr Preston leaves two sons and a daughter: Glenard H Preston, L B Preston of Eureka, Kan, and Mrs Leara R Jones of Cleveland; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, John Preston of Ludlow. Three sons, Laudie, Guy and Harry, died several years ago. Friends may call at the Willis L Arnold funeral home in Townville today after 2 pm. Funeral services will be held there on Thursday at 2 pm, and interment will follow in Tryonville cemetery beside the wife."
