Age 29 years. Rollin Lauriston Cowles was the son of Lewis and Pamelia (Bolles) Cowles. He married Abbie Sophia Crossman on January 1, 1861 at Amherst, MA. A member of Co. D, 27th Regt. Mass. Vols., he was killed in the Battle at Cold Harbor, VA.
