Michael Huston Hatton passed away at his home in Orlando Florida May 2nd, 2016. For over a year he was winning a battle with cancer but lost the final round which mercifully came very fast.
Michael was born December 2, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At an early age he started his infatuation with golf as a caddie at the famous Aronimick Golf Club. He served in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Anchorage Alaska. Michael was a gifted sales personality. He made a career in vacation resort properties that took him to Mexico, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Barbados, the Florida Keys, Fort Lauderdale, Marco Island, Cocoa Beach, North Carolina, and finally to Destin, Florida. Hundreds of salespersons today owe their skills to the tutelage given them by Michael.
There were few acquaintances in Mike's life. Being just an acquaintance meant you weren't captivated by his personality and wit which made you Mike's friend. As many know, being Mike's friend meant you had an Ace in the hole, someone who would go the extra mile no matter what your needs were. Mike was also the ultimate gamesman, a master at golf, the pool table, video games, card games and the like. You were always more likely to win than lose if you were Mike's teammate.
In 1989 Mike married the love of his life, his top producer, his soul mate Lynda Kaplan Hatton and they enjoyed the past 27 years as a team.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents Matthew and Katherine Hatton, his sister Nancy Ann Hatton who died as a child. Besides Lynda, Mike leaves his son Rick Hatton of Berwyn, Pennsylvania; his daughter Nancy Hatton of Tampa, Florida; his grandchildren Angela, Matt, Rachel and Nathan, and great grandchildren Gavin and Violet all of Pennsylvania
Lynda and family would like you to join Mike's many friends for a Celebration of Mike's Life to be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday June 4th, 2016 at the clubhouse of Emerald Bay Golf Club, 4781 Clubhouse Drive, Destin, FL 32541. In lieu of flowers donations to the at https://donate.cancer.org are appreciated.
