Donald "Don" D. Griffith
October 16, 1936 ~ May 23, 2021 (age 84)

Donald "Don" D. Griffith, 84, of Geneseo, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Hammond Henry Hospital Long Term Care Facility, Geneseo. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 28, 2021, at First Presbyterian Church, Geneseo. Reverend Timothy Doty will officiate. Memorials may be directed to Geneseo Presbyterian Church Choir and Elwood Presbyterian Church Choir.

Don was born on October 16, 1936, the son of Robert and Jessie (Reid) Griffith, in Elwood, IL. He graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1954. He worked for the US Government Civil Service as a computer specialist at the Rock Island Arsenal, from which he retired after 33 years. Don was active at his church, participating in the choir. He was treasurer of his condo association, an avid runner, and music was a passion. He especially loved his family and spending time with them.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Gale Griffith, Rock Island, IL, and Shari (Steve) Shannon, Geneseo, IL; grandchildren, Carly (Sean) Cummings, Whitney (Dustin) McDonald, and Chase (Jess) Shannon; great-grandchildren, Kade Heilman, Reid McDonald, Liam and Kai Cummings, and Brecken, Lennen, and Teagen Shannon.
