A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ruby Lee Hammac Camp, 87, formally of Barnwell, SC, eleven a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Springfield, SC, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church parish hall. Burial will be at the Blackville Cemetery. Father Wilbroad Mwape will be the celebrant. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060-9979. . Ruby passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Wake Forrest, NC.

Born in Brewton, Alabama she was a daughter of the late Rufus Hammac, Sr. and Elma Wilson Hammac. She was a homemaker, married to the late Alfred Banks Camp, Jr. and was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, Barnwell, SC.
Survivors include her children, Gorland Camp (Pete) McBride of Wake Forrest, NC, Penny Camp Holland of Greenwood, SC, Roy (Rebecca) Camp of North Augusta, SC, Alfred “Boots” (Stephanie) Camp of Salley, SC; grandchildren, Ty (Shannon) McBride, Leslie (Kevin) Payne, Ryan (Liz) Holland, Twyla (Hugh) Camp, Banks Camp, Maggie Camp; great-grandchildren, Mason McBride, Laney McBride, Ellie Grace Payne, Garrett Luquire, Kylie Camp, Evan Ronald Holland; special son of the heart, Juan (Ozaida) Suarez; sisters, Dorothy Barlow of Orange Park, Fl., Arlene Wood and Betty Perry both of Pensacola, Fl.; brothers, Rufus Hammac, Jr. and Ronald Hammac both of Pensacola, Fl., Donald Hammac of Gulf Breeze, Fl and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ron Holland, sisters, Ruthie Mae Hallmark, Bertie Evans and brothers, James “Buster” Hammac, Brunner Hammac and a special son of the heart, Jorge Suarez.
