Hansford "Hank" Burdette, 84, of Hurricane, formerly of Charleston, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
He was retired from Sears, Roebuck with 34 years of service and was a lifelong resident of the Kanawha Valley. Hank attended Maranatha Fellowship, St. Albans, and was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Tessie Burdette; and parents, Ernest and Dessie Burdette.
Surviving: sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Joyce Burdette of St. Albans and Ron and Sandie Burdette of Charleston; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Terry Beach of Hurricane; sister, Virginia Reese of Ripley; grandchildren, Deanna, Melissa, Kathy, Andrea, Becky and Jason; great-grandchildren, Marcus, Tonya, Brittany, Sarah, Cody, Dylan, Lacey and Robert; seven stepgrandchildren and 20 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston, with the Rev. James R. Wright Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, South Charleston.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
