Funeral service for Bessie Keiffer Cooper will be held 10 AM Thursday, July 23, 2009 in Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Howard officiating. Burial will be in Union Baptist Cemetery at Belmont, La. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, 2009 from 5 PM until 8 PM and on Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home.
Mrs. Cooper, 72, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009, after a brief battle with cancer at Natchitoches Regional Long Term Care Unit in Natchitoches, La.
She was born September 5, 1936 in the Couley Community of Winn Parish.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rick Cooper of Zwolle and her parents, John and Beulah Keiffer of Winn Parish.
She is survived by two brothers, Hershel Keiffer and wife Peggy and Louis Keiffer all of Couley Community, La.; three uncles, Albert Leeper of Jacksonville, Fl., Chick Leeper and wife Verlie, and Herbert Leeper all of Calvin, La.; one aunt, Verdie Leeper of Tampa, Fl.; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
