A CAR - MOTORCYCLE accident Saturday afternoon claimed the life of a Xenia woman, the 29th traffic fatality in Greene County this year, the Xenia Post, Ohio State Patrol, reported.
The victim was Mrs. Cathryn E. Lane, 28, of 623 N. West St.
Officers said she was riding the cycle east on Timothy Ln. at 3:40 p.m. while Teresa L. Osborne, 20, of 317 W. Market St., was driving an auto north on Union Rd.
Mrs. Lane, officers said, approaching the Union Rd. intersection made a wide turn and went left of center into the north-bound lane and into the path of the car
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Greene County Rescue took the Osborne woman to Greene Memorial Hospital, where she was treated for shock and released.
MRS. LANE was born in Greene County Dec. 7, 1944, the daughter of Charles E. and Ladonna Sinclair Stanley. She was graduated from Xenia High School in 1962, attended Miami Jacobs College of Business, Dayton, and was employed at Wright-Patterson AF Base seven years. She was a member of Second United Presbyterian Church and the Jayceeties.
Survivors include her husband, John, whom she married June 6, 1964, in Xenia; her parents, of near New Burlington; two sons, Scott Andrew, 5, and Steven Todd, 2; a sister, Mrs Charles (Carolyn) Salyer of Springfield; a brother, Eugene Stanley of Xenia, and several nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Kenneth L. Beams will officiate at services.
