Joyce Ann Hoover, 68, of Blanchard, died Monday, May 16, 2016, in Norman. The daughter of Hugh N. Pool and Irene (Martin) Pool, she was born at home in Blanchard on November 1, 1947.

Joyce was a Baptist in faith and was a graduate of Blanchard High School. She worked as a supply technician for Tinker Air Force Base and retired after 36 years of service. For the last ten years, she has been employed as a cashier for the Newcastle Casino. In her spare time, Joyce enjoyed traveling, reading, watching movies, going to the lake, and cheering for her two favorite teams, OU and the Thunder. She also enjoyed attending her grandson's wrestling matches and traveled all over the United States to cheer him on. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Ruth “PeeWee” Peters; and three brothers, Bob, Gene, and Harold Pool.

Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Dana Woods and Jodi Turpin, both of Blanchard; three grandchildren, Jason Woods, II, of Del City, Shane Woods and Claudia Carlson of Wyoming, and Emma Turpin of Blanchard; one sister, Rosetta Brooks and her husband, Sedall, of Blanchard; one brother, Billy Pool of Blanchard; her best friends, Cathy Brinlee and Elaine Griffith; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery.
