Funeral service for Minnie Cooper, 79, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Occupy #1 Baptist Church. Rev. Joel Johnson and Kenneth Bell will officiate.
Burial will follow in Occupy #1Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Occupy #1 Baptist Church from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Visitation will resume at the church on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service. Minnie was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Minnie was always willing to help others in need and donated to multiple charities, including Wounded Warriors Project, Baptist Children’s Home, and World Challenge.
Minnie served her country as a nurse in the United States Army and retired from AT&T after 33 years of service.
She spent her next ten years volunteering. Minnie was a brilliant and charitable woman who was very devoted to the Lord and loved to study the Word.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Minnie’s memory include her son Douglas Cooper of Stonewall; two daughters, Carol Golden and husband, Mark, of Jasper, MO, and Lisa Gaines and husband, Kent, of Jonesboro; two brothers, Mike Hatch and wife, Brenda, of Canton, TX, and Johnny Hatch and wife, Sandy, of Arlington, TX; two sisters, Mary Hatch of Pineville, and Cathy Bell and husband, Ken, of Scurry, TX; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
Minnie is preceded in death by her parents, Mead and Minnie Hatch; her brothers, Tommy and Douglas Hatch; and sister, Celeste Michel.
