William Vickery “Bill” Pullen, age 75, of Cottage Grove, Tenn., died Sunday, May 15, 2016, at his residence in Cottage Grove, Tenn.

Bill was a Founding Member of the Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department and served as the Fire Chief for many years. He was very active with the Cottage Grove Freedom Festival on the 4th of July each year. He formerly worked at Emerson Electric Co. for several years and was also a self employed machinist.

Bill was born May 11, 1941 in Paris, TN to the late Barton Pullen and the late Mary Vickery Pullen.

He was married on December 26, 1962 to June Wilson Pullen of Cottage Grove and she survives. He is also survived by his one Son, Eric (Debra) Pullen of Memphis, Tenn; two Sisters, Carol Stigall of Paris, Tenn, and Ann (Jim) Stromecky of Huntsville, Ala; one Brother, George Carlton Pullen of Paris, Tenn; four Grandchildren, Mickey (Vickey) Pullen, Jon Pullen, Lee (Dena) Heafner, and Nathan Heafner; four Great Grandchildren, Brent Pullen, Payson Heafner, Addyson Heafner, and Lucy Clare Heafner; Several Nieces and Nephews; Sister-in-law, Nina (Wayne) Cotton; two Brother-In-Laws, Lowell (Debbie) Wilson, and David (Karen) Wilson; and Very Special Caregivers, Elizabeth Ray & Family, Cassie Cowan, Jean Fulks, and TN Quality Hospice.

Besides his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by Sisters, Marian McWherter, and Corinne Bowden; and a Brother, Jim Pullen.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 12 – 3 pm Tuesday, May 17, 2016. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 3:00 pm Tuesday, May 17, 2016 with Chad Kennedy and Bart Herbison officiating. Pallbearers will be Mickey Pullen, Jon Pullen, Nathan Heafner, Bart Herbison, John Herbison, Mark Herbison, Jimmy Stromecky, Danny Stromecky, and James Reynolds.

Interment will be at Walker Cemetery on Hwy 69 North of Paris, TN.
