Rachel Stevens Dean, 84, of Gastonia, was a daughter to the late John and Mamie Stephens. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jack Dean; daughter, Sherry Renee Dean Flanders; grandson, Stephen Kyle Flanders; sisters, Willie Mae Kukler, Mary Lou Parson.
Mrs. Dean was a member of Temple Baptist Church for 25 years and is an active member of Loray Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and she was very involved with the Vietnamese Children's Mission for 8 years. She was a member of the Gaston History Association.
Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte.
