SERVICES FOR EDITH BRANDT HELD JANUARY 31

Funeral services for Edith Brandt were held Wednesday morning, January 31 at the Hartley United Methodist Church. Rev. Lester Hancock officiated. The casket bearers were Clifford Roggenburg, Richard Kummerfeld, Dave Ohrtmann, Delbert Westphalen, Jim Rons and Al Schultz. Interment was at Pleasant View Ceme­tery at Hartley with the Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Raymond Brandt, nee Edith Minnie Stroman, the daughter of Charley and Rachel Ehlers Stroman, was born June 23, 1900 at Paullina, Iowa. She passed away at the Sheldon Hospital January 28, 1979 at the age of 78 years, seven months and five days. She attended the public schools near her childhood home in O'Brien County, and was a lifetime resident of this area.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Hartley, had been a member of the Phoebe Circle of the Methodist Women, and also a member of the W.R.C. She had worked at Mann Wing and also at We Care Haven.

Her marriage to Horace Bruns took place September 21, 1920, and later she was united in marriage to Raymond Brandt, May 26, 1939.

He preceded her in death, as did her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Left to cherish her memory are her five children: Clementine (Mrs. Claude Anderson) of Spirit Lake; Fern (Mrs. Wayne Reese) of Peterson; Lorraine (Mrs. Lester Jungers) of Milford; Loren Brandt of St. Louis, Missouri; and Joy (Mrs. Stan Jones) of Decatur, Illinois; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Bruns of Granville, Mrs. Frank Ducommun of Cherokee and Mrs. Bertha Kinzel of Rockwell City, as well as nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
