Fort Cobb - Funeral for HERBERT DALE REPP, 82, of Fort Cobb, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Fort Cobb First United Methodist Church, with Keith King, pastor, and Glenn Millard, former pastor, of Oklahoma City, officiating.
Mr. Repp died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, in Carnegie. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Cobb, under direction of Steverson Funeral Home, Fort Cobb.
He was born June 22, 1924, northeast of Fort Cobb, to Robert T. and Myrna Madge Goodwin Repp. He was a lifelong resident of the Fort Cobb area. He attended Oak Grove School through the 8th grade and graduated from Fort Cobb High School in 1942. He farmed and ranched all his life and always lived within a mile of where he was born.
He married Norma Lee Reinking on Dec. 2, 1947, in Alfalfa. He and his wife traveled to South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, England, France, Israel, Egypt, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Hawaii, Alaska, cruised the Caribbean and visited every state except Rhode Island.
He was a member of the Fort Cobb Rotary Club for 35 years and was awarded the "Paul Harris Fellow." He and his wife hosted many foreign exchange students. He was named Outstanding Young Farmer in Oklahoma in 1955 by the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Caddo County Soil Conservation Board for 44 years and served as director. He also served on the Fort Cobb School Board and the Caddo County Peanut Association Board. He was a member of the Shorthorn Cattle Association and Fort Cobb First United Methodist Church since 1957.
Survivors include his wife of the home; four children and their spouses, Cheryl and Jerry Dickson, Bartlesville, Eddie and Mary Jane Repp, and Rodney and Keri Repp, all of Fort Cobb, and Tammy and Skipper Bates, Hobart; nine grandchildren, Cheri Woolman and husband Russell, Bartlesville, Jamie Cameron and husband Taylor, Edmond, John and Jeremy Repp, both of Fort Cobb, Katrina Repp, Sallisaw, Brett, Erin, Zakary and Caleb Bates, all of Hobart; five great-grandchildren, Taylor and Joshua Woolman, Bartlesville, David Repp, Fort Cobb, Chris Eyster, Weatherford, and Johnathan James Nicholson, Sallisaw; a sister and brother-in-law, Olive and Jimmy Cobbs, Anadarko; two sisters-in-law, Oda Belle Repp, Chickasha, and Jessie Repp, Fort Cobb; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Repp and Kenneth Repp; and three sisters, Sylvia Gentile, Reta Earnest and Twila Hodges.
