Awalt, George Albert, 80, died suddenly at his home. A life-long resident of Bayswater, he was a member of F. F. Butler Branch No. 44 Royal Canadin Legion, Chester. Mr. Awalt was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Awalt and was a fisherman. Surviving are three sons, Lapean, Bayswater; Gordon, Blandford; Leo, Chester; one daughter, Idella (Mrs. Granville Cleveland), Coleman's Cove; two brothers, Clayton, Martin's Point; Oliver, Aspotagan. The body is at the Davis Funeral Hame, Chester. Service will be Monday at 2 p.m. in All Saints Anglican Church, Bayswater, Rev. Kerry Bourke officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

He enlisted April 24, 1916 at Vancouver, B.C. in the 231st Overseas Battalion CEF and served with the 85th Battalion in France. He was demobilized June 15, 1919 with the Rank of Sergeant Major. He was awarded the Military Medal for bravery in battle.
