PARKHURST, James W. - Of Flushing, age 72, died Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center.Jim was born in Flint, MI on August 4, 1934, the son of Walter C. and Janet E. (Wigent) Parkhurst. He married Sharon L. (Thieme) Hurst in Las Vegas, NV on June 27, 1997. Jim worked at General Motors as a Hospital Supervisor, retiring after 35 years. He enjoyed bowling, golf, baseball, fishing and camping. He was a member of the Flushing Moose Lodge. Surviving are: wife, Sharon; 3 children, Kim and husband Steve Matus, James and wife Gretchen Parkhurst, Nancy and husband Gary Smith, all of Traverse City; sister, Amy and husband Al Mayville of Zephyrhills, FL; 2 step-children, Michelle and husband Dan Glowney of Hilton Head, SC and Kevin Campbell of Flushing; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandsons; 4 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
