Vesta M. Peterson WEST YORK Vesta M. Peterson, 84, died Wednesday morning, February 22, 2006, at Manor Care South. She was the wife of Stuart E. Peterson. The couple celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on August 21, 2005. Mrs. Peterson was a housewife and a loving mother and grandmother. She formerly worked as a nurse at the West Side Hospital in West York. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church. Vesta was a volunteer with the Red Cross and a member of the Windy Hills Senior Center. She loved to knit and sew. Born in Gettysburg on September 13, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Madeline (Bolling) Reed. In addition to her husband, she leaves son, Gary S. Peterson and his wife, Vera of Spring Grove, and son, Larry J. Peterson and his wife, Lucinda of Abbottstown; and two granddaughters, Dionne Wagoner of Dover and Kara Peterson of Abbottstown. She was one of 14 children and is survived by six brothers, Father Al Reed, Richard Reed, Chester Reed, Pat Reed, Ed Reed, and Fred Reed. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Koller Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 2000 W. Market St., York. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Father Thomas R. Hoke officiating. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity in remembrance of Vesta.
